QB Baker Mayfield started to pick up on his new offensive playbook, and the production followed suit. The Browns’ passing attack did fair better over the latter half of the year. He was a WR2 or better in three of the seven games he played, but the rest of his performances were forgettable. He was a more necessary piece of the offense now that Beckham Jr. He improved slightly over the back half of the season. This happened with a healthy OBJ, so keep that in mind. He ranked inside the Top 30 on just two occasions, finishing either 39th or worse in the other six games. He was usable only twice in the first half of the year. Since the Browns had their bye in Week 9, we can see how Landry faired during the first and second half of the season. He tore his ACL in Week 7, putting an end to a disappointing season. He never seemed to mesh with QB Baker Mayfield, and since the offensive scheme had changed once again, he was on the outside looking in when it came to fantasy success. To say he was a bust would be an understatement. OBJ played in just seven games last season. He had just two games ranked as a WR2 or better, and he finished with five games ranked outside the Top 36. He averaged just 0.7 points more per game than Landry and had only one week ranked as a Top 12 WR. While he was never going to make good on his draft value as the WR11 due to his time missed, he performed nowhere close to WR1 range when he was healthy. He failed to help you in over half the games he was played, something out of the norm for Landry. When you drafted Landry last season, you expected consistent numbers with the ability to throw him into your flex. Even though he was drafted as the WR36 overall last season, his performance was nowhere near what people had expected. We will look to answer this question today as we look back at what they did in 2020 and predict what they can do for you in 2021. Landry could easily be more consistent if OBJ stays healthy and takes away top coverage. No one would be surprised if OBJ were to bounce back and be a top fantasy option. With that said, the talent level of these two receivers is huge. OBJ has struggled to stay healthy, and Landry carries little upside due to his inability to get into the endzone. The Browns offense is run-centric, and there is slated to be no change in that regard this season. Neither was able to provide the fantasy value they were projected to have in 2020. Many are avoiding these two until the later rounds of drafts at the moment, and it is easy to see why. A trade never came to pass, and the Browns now head into 2021 with the same receiving core.
